The mini digital TV recorder is so easy to use, just plug the compact unit into the Scart socket at the back of your TV, attach your existing external aerial lead, use ‘Autoscan' to find all available channels and enjoy receiving and recording digital TV.
What's more, you can use the mini digital tv recorder to record programmes up to 7 days in advance, plus record, pause and rewind live TV so you never need miss another programme, film or major sporting event again. Q: I have searched for TV and radio channels and cannot find as many as the advertised ‘up to 74 TV and radio channels' – what can I do?
A: The number of channels you can receive is dependent on the particular television area in which you live and also your reception of the TV signal from your local terrestrial transmitter, based on your house's aspect and TV antenna position. If you receive fewer than the maximum possible 74 then please be reassured that there is not a fault with the Neostar TV Capture.
Q: How is this product powered?
A: It is powered by the supplied UK spec mains lead.
Q: I have set the parental lock and forgotten my PIN number – what can I do?
A: 1.Press 'menu' button to enter Main Menu.
2. Select SETUP option--then select ‘SET DEFAULT ‘ and press ‘OK' button.
3. Press PLAY/PAUSE (red) button to confirm reset.
Q: Does this unit support red button interactive services?
A: No, unfortunately not on this model.
Q: When I play back a recording I want to make the percentage bar at the top of the screen disappear – how do I do that?
A: Press INFO on the remote control to make the percentage bar disappear.
Q: If a passcode is requested what is the default passcode?
A: The default passcode is 0000.
Q: How do I navigate around the menu?
A: By using the volume (left and right) and channel up and down buttons.
Q: When playing back recordings, the footage is played back inside a black frame. Can this frame size be enlarged e.g. to 16:9, 14:9, 4:3 formats?
A: There is no option for this on the Scart recorder, so please adjust the aspect on your own TV.

A: Yes.
Q: Is this device set up to receive HD channels?

Q: Can you watch one channel while recording another?

the item works very well but the plug supplied was broke, so was the replacement one i was sent. dont the mirror check that the items are any good before selling them

My experience with this product it is fincky dosnt work every time ,I have had to adapt it to be more robust.could be made better.

Great product, smaller than a set top box but does just as good a job. Clear picture and easy set up. the record facility is brilliant and would cost loads more to have that on a set top box. Well worth the money spent and can recommend this item.

What a brilliant device. Cannot understand some of the reviews I read saying it was unclear how to set up.It was so simple to do.I bought it to give digital TV channels to our kitchen TV which only has an indoor aerial.The image quality is as good as our main TV connected to an outside aerial.Would recomend this to anyone in the same position.

It only picked up B B C channel with an indoor aerial,absolutly fine when connected to my outside roof aerial,but don't have a connection to this in the room I needed it in,so make sure you have an adequate aerial before you purchase one.

Fantastic TV Capture Receiver - Recorder

Having unpacked the TV Receiver- Recorder we looked at it in amazement,we could not believe something as advertised that good could be so small!
We read the the instructions plugged it in and although we have a TV that is at least 10 years old the reception is fantastic we have no digital breakup at all. We can highly recommend this item.
Being over 65 and being born BC (before Computers) we are a bit slow in accepting new technology, but this item is so easy to set up and use.

Did not rate this item at all. Picture kept freezing. Had to reset by turning power off and on withing 20 minis to a couple of hours. Not good.

So far this unit has worked quite well. Used in bedroom where space behind set is limited. The set is not wide screen so the Digital picture comes with band top and bottom of screen. The set up was not all that clear but once set achived all the channels. There is sometimes a flick across the screen which might be interferance by passing cars?. I have a second TV in another bedroom and intend to purchase another unit the same.

The item in question does not work properly.when installed the picture is distorted, I even had an IT engineer look at it without success as a consequence it is useless to me

For the money it is very good. There are one or two strange things it does-tuning in extra stations so you end up with lots of duplications. When you get too many just do a factory reset. Sometimes the SD card gets corrupted. Just do a reformat. These problems only appear once in a blue moon. Easily fixed. We got one as a stopgap while deciding on a big PVR but don't need to upgrade at all. Occasionally it freezes.

equipment is poor, the instructions for instalation are in effect non existant, it failed to provide any viewing what so ever, a giantic waste of good money.

Neat compact and unobtrusive better than the original digi boxes but unfortunately I could not get any of the main stations like BBC 1 and 2 ceebeebies ITV, Chanels 4 & 5 Freeview and so on just Sky sport, Adult programmes, Russia Today, Babesin and various things like this that I would not watch, I tried tuning in two days running but the same ones just came back, I rang required number for further help they suggested re-tuning or having an indoor aerial and some kind of booster gadget to plug in but the idea of getting this new gadget was to cut down on wires and plugs and so forth so I chose to keep my existing freeview box and reluctantly sent the item back.

I was very disapointed with the mini scart receiver as it did not work
It would not pick up a signal even though the signal was there on the main television and we tried it on the main television but with no result.
I liked the size of it as it fits nicely behind the television

Was wondering after ordered if it would be ok, it was and works very well however, I had to ring for help the staff very helpfull explained everything as some details not quiet clear as I thought I may need a scart adapter no you plug into the TV. The set required for was a small portable now have freeview on it and it works from my small aeriel, have to put TV on the click for freeview, sometimes it does it without that, if it does not happen just click. Only thing is the subtitles they are on all the time click green button they go off for a short time then back on.Could take off but sometimes you need them. Got a memory stick so able to record which is great. For the money it is great value, I would recommend it.
