    Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Is there a way to decrease the sensitivity of the track increment feature, so that individual tracks from older vinyl records and tapes can be transferred to CD successfully?
A: Many older recordings feature a certain amount of background hiss/noise and this can affect the ability of Vinyl2CD to recognize the beginning and end of individual tracks. This problem can be solved by using the manual track increment mode (detailed on page 21 of the user manual). Alternatively, you can divide your recorded tracks by using the Audacity software provided (see page 45 of the user manual for details)

Q: Can I use Vinyl2CD to copy my existing CDs?
A: Yes, by connecting your existing CD player to Vinyl2CD via the aux-in jack. Once connected and the aux-in setting has been selected, simply play your CDs on your existing player and create (‘burn') new CDs on Vinyl2CD.

Q: Am I able to record tracks from different records or skip recording certain tracks?
A: Yes. You can do this by pressing the pause button whilst recording, moving to the next track you wish to record and then pressing play.

Q: What are the dimensions and weight?
    A: 43cm W x 14cm H x 37cm D, 13kgs

Q: Is there a headphone socket?
    A: Yes

Q: What types of CD-ROM discs should I use to record onto with my VINYL2CD player/recorder?
A: Use CD-R or CD-RW discs only. We sell the CD-R type discs – please call 0845 555 4444 or go online to www.mysmartbuy.com to order

Q: If I am recording tracks from a record onto a CD and wish to change the record so I can have a selection of tracks on the one CD but from two records – what do I do?
A: You simply start playing the vinyl record and record to CD as many tracks as you want from that first record, then press Play/Pause and the CD will suspend recording. You can then change the record to a new one, and then simply press Play/Pause again and the recording to CD will recommence as a new track on that same CD.

Excellent delivery time. Have tried other gadgets but this is the easiest and best, good instructions and great recordings. Would recomend it to anyone who needs to transfer vinyl/tapes. If a pensioner can do it anyone can record from this machine remarkably easy. Many thanks.

Although I am very pleased with this item so far, the recordings are very good. I have had a problem with the remote which is being replaced, I hope then it will deserve 5 stars.

Not much to say about it, it works and works well.

    07 Jul 2012
Does what it says on the label but I agree that the instructions could be a lot better worded. They do leave a lot of "suck it and see" actions which take time to work out correctly. Particularly difficult to understand the recording level instructions. Also bear in mind that you need either headphones or another amplified input to connect to to hear anything you are playing or recording. In the end though it does record ok.

    Saving me money and memories!!!
    By Burdlow, 24 Jun 2012
I cannot praise this product enough - the quality is amazing. I could tell as soon as I took it from the box that this was no cheap plastic vinyl to cd machines on sees in the shops - it was heavy! It is so easy to use with a pc (the Audacity software is a little daunting for newcomers but as I have been using this for over a year anyway, I was ok with it. I opted for the black version which looks great next to my laptop setup. The sound quality is top notch. Even if you just wire this up to an existing hi-fi to use the turntable and cassette for playing your music - the quality more than justifies the price. Best purchase in ages ans will take some beating! Neo5star!!!

    very good

By Mr Kitcat, 09 Apr 2012
I have recently received the item as it was out of stock and have managed to transfer some of my records to CD It took a while to be able to transfer music to cd as I found the instruction book was not very clear as to how to transfer music (which buttons to press and when.) I had to ring up customer service to get advice who answered my query. Having said this I am finding the unit great. I have also found that you can play CDs without pressing the finishing button if you only play them on the unit. Also if you are new to transferring music to CD (like I am) you may find that you can't erase music from a finalised disc on your unit. I found this by chance and cannot use to rewritable CD's.
