Radio Caroline CD Set

It was over 45 years ago that Radio Caroline defied authority and broadcast the music which we really wanted to hear. A wonderful time! Anyone who tuned in to those 60s transmissions will be delighted with this CD set featuring unique recordings together with many of the hits of the day. As soon as you press the play button you will hear those familiar jingles and commercials and be transported back to the days of pirate radio. Disc 1 features Johnnie Walker’s evening show with his unique chat and hits of the day. Disc 2 features Bob Stewart playing the hits and a fascinating rarely heard 20 min Beatles interview. Included is an original 40 page archive copy of Beatwave magazine (valued at over £30) with pictures and stories of the time, including a Paul McCartney self-portrait on the cover. BEATWAVE MAGAZINE
With a pre-decimal cover price of 3/6d (three shillings and six pence) Beatwave magazine was published by Beatwave Limited as an informative magazine for listeners of Radio Caroline and Radio London. This is an actual colour copy from the day and it is in excellent condition. Issue number 2 consists of 40 pages and interestingly the cover features a Paul McCartney self portrait. Inside are features of the day about life on the water for DJs such as Johnnie Walker and Tony Blackburn and of course numerous photo articles of the stars including the Stones, the Beatles, Hendrix, Small Faces and the Beach Boys, as well as Otis Redding and others.
